COLONOSCOPY PREP / PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS
Preparing for Your Colonoscopy
Fox Valley Surgical Specialists (FVSS) cares about you and your health. In order for your colonoscopy results to be the best they can be, there are certain pre- and post-procedure instructions patients need to follow. These relate to things like medication holds, supplies to have on hand at home and transportation after the procedure.
The instructions patients need to follow for a few days BEFORE arriving for their colonoscopy are generically referred to as a Prep.
FVSS offers two main types of Prep:
- the Miralax Prep (Most patients use this)
- the Golytely Prep (Requires a prescription from your doctor)
Your doctor will have shared with you which of these Preps you are to follow for your colonoscopy procedure. If you have questions about which prep to use, call us at 920-731-8131.
