About Dr. Mitchell
Dr. Mitchell is board-certified in general surgery and fellowship-trained in endocrine surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands.
She performs a wide range of procedures, with particular expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques including robotic surgeries and percutaneous thyroid nodule radiofrequency ablation that enhance precision, recovery, and outcomes.
Dr. Mitchell is also certified by the American Board of Surgery in Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery as a Focused Practice Designation, reflecting her advanced training and commitment to excellence in complex endocrine surgery and cancer care.

Dr. Mitchell earned her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. She also completed a surgery research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, followed by a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she also served as an instructor.

Dr. Mitchell is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and fellowship-trained in endocrine surgery through the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. She is also member of the American Thyroid Association, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), and the North American Society for Interventional Thyroidology (NASIT). She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Head and Neck Cancer Center of Excellence at ThedaCare Appleton Cancer Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Mitchell enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her family.
