Benjamin D. Andrew, MD
About Dr. Andrew
Dr. Andrew focuses on acute care and general surgery as well as endoscopy. He additionally performs minimally invasive operations and has an interest in abdominal wall reconstruction. His approach to care is patient-centered, with a focus on shared decision making. “Patients live in their bodies and are uniquely qualified to report their personal, subjective experience with their illness or injury. It’s my job to help them understand medically what’s happening, how that relates to what they experience, explore options, and help determine the path to best outcomes that respect their needs and desires.”
Born and raised in western Wisconsin, Dr. Andrew then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and minor in classical humanities. He received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University before returning to Madison to complete his general surgery residency with a focus on rural medicine and surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society while attending medical school.
In his spare time, Dr. Andrew enjoys running, kayaking, traveling and spending time with his family.
